Rachel and Marc’s gorgeous, golden fairytale wedding in Newport, Rhode Island in June was a dream! Their venue was a castle set up on a hill, overlooking the rolling cliffs and water speckled with sailboats and the glittering sun. Everything about their wedding day was so dreamy – from their spacious getting ready location, to their first look out on the rocks, their ceremony in the glowing sun and their perfect portrait setting on green grass by the sea. Not only that, but their ceremony was doused in white petals and florals, and engulfed by the golden glow of sunset. After their outdoor cocktail hour from sunset to dusk, their guests were greeted into the reception room, which was decked out in thoughtful and stylish details and decor. What a beautiful, beautiful day, and what an honor to photograph it! My favorite added touch was the wrapped cookies in their shape of their dog on each guests’ plate as a nod to their favorite four-legged friend. Browse all of the beauty below!

Tell us about your wedding…
We wanted our wedding to be like a romantic fairytale. We specifically wanted to add tons of florals to get the feeling of something magical. We went with a neutral color palette and touches of gold because we wanted a beautiful yet classic vibe that would never go out of style. I went for a ballgown wedding dress because I wanted the fairytale bride feeling, after all this is a once in a lifetime celebration of love! We chose our venue because of the timeless Newport Mansion feeling and it was on the ocean, we both share a love for the sea. We paid close attention to all details from flowers, to favors, to plate rentals, to stationary because we wanted everything to be perfect for ourselves and our guests who chose to celebrate our love.
How did you choose your photographer?
We chose our photographer because her dedication and talent is evident through her work! She captures the moment in such a raw and beautiful way! We also had the best engagement session where we felt so comfortable and simply knew it would be the best decision we could make! They went above and beyond to help us feel comfortable and truly capture what we thought was the most important moments!
Tips or advice for other couples planning their big day?
Honestly, planning WAY in advance is the way to go! Make a checklist and start crossing things off ASAP. The sooner its done the less on your plate. Do not wait until the last minute because that is when things can add up! Check reviews on wedding websites and don’t be afraid to ask your vendors as many questions as you need or want. And don’t be afraid to ask for help from your friends and family! Its your day!
